you piss in a cup and then you put the stick that reads your urine in it. on it there are 3 columns. THC,AMP,COC.

Yeah, at my MEPS in Charlotte, NC they did. It may or may not be different in other places.

Glucometer device "Accu Chek"?

As they're all made by the same company, they all have a pretty decent level of accuracy. All glucometers, however, are only required to be accurate within 20%.

The MultiClix is a lancing device (used to prick your finger). You'll need one of these, but all of the glucometers come with one by default, so you don't have to buy one separately.

The Performa, Aviva, Compact Plus, Advantage and Active are all glucometers, or glucose meters. This is what you'll need. I've heard really good things about the Compact Plus -- it's small and portable, and as accurate as the others.

The test strips are required to USE the glucometers, so you'll need some of these as well. This is the most expensive part. I get about 100-200 of these a month (as I test from 4-8 times a day), but you won't necessarily need that many, depending on your health problem.

As an example, what would the vitals of someone having a stroke be, particularly a brain stem stroke? would they be increased or decreased? and would they change immediately or would you have to be close to dying for them to change?

Not that easy. It depends where the actual stroke is (anatomically), how close to death they are, and then it really varies from individual to individual. They would not have a-fib just because they had a stroke per se. Very close to death, most vital signs become irregular and lower/slower.

Why does the check engine lite cause failure on Calif Smog Test with no bad emmisions? It's just the enginelite only--something to do with fuel.oxygen mixture in catalytic converter. Is there a cheap way to pass -- get the lite off (note simply resetting or unplugging the check engine wont work cause it comes back on shortly and its internally computerized/accessible) Its a 2001 corolla. thx
my 'rolla has 27k miles and a fairly new engine. The only 2 fault codes are p0420 cat efficiency below threshold (Bank1); P0440 EVAP Ctrl System Malfunction. After clearing the light come on in about 30 minutes. I understand there is a small window between the time when the sensors are not in pre-active state and when the errors are activated. So do you think its worth trying the smog check again after about 15 minutes after restting. I understand old 2001's have faster drive cycles than newer cars.

After a successful emissions repair, the car has to be driven through a number of "drive cycles" before the original error code that was stored in the computer can be cleared automatically by the computer itself. So in the mean time you have to wait before having an emissions retest done. However, as you undergo these drive cycles, the check engine light itself should not be on. There's no easy way to fool the emission's testing center's OBD-II scanner. Your OBD-II diagnostic connector port under your steering wheel has to be functional and working or the emissions center won't be able to talk to your computer and verify that all latent stored trouble codes have been cleared from the computer.

Lowering morning sugar for type2 diabetes?

I'm newly diagnosed (under 1 month) with type 2. I am on Metformin HCL 500mg which I take just before bed. At my doctor's suggestion, I also have a small snack of dairy or protein (usually like string cheese or a glass of milk) just before bed.

Being that you are newly diagnosed it would be in your best interest to educate yourself on the disease.

There are many things you can do to help control your blood sugar levels like exercise, understanding how food affect you, medication, and natural supplements are some great places to start.

Proteins are fine but only in moderation because to much of them can spike you sugar levels hours after eating them. Try eating proteins with vitamins and minerals such as beans, nuts and whole grains.
