How do you use a wrist blood pressure monitor to get an accurate reading?
I have slightly high blood pressure and I am trying to measure it at home. My wife bought me a wristech wrist bp monitor but I'm not sure where to position my wrist to get an accurate reading.
you put it on like a watch but it needs to go on the underside of the wrist and then you have to sit quietly...no talking or moving around...to get an accurate reading. also be sure you use the same wrist each time you take a reading so then you can compare the results. but remember that blood pressures naturally fluctuate a little throughout the day.

What is the average time to develop Type 2 Diabetes?
Before showing symptoms of Type 2 Diabetes, how many months or years it is developing in person's body. Can we assume the side effects of Diabetes which is affected to other organs at that time.
In one magazine I had read, before average 10 years determining of Type 2 Diabetes metabolic and physiological changes are starting which lead to Diabetes.. Is it True..
Yes it is. The length of time a person has diabetes also comes into play when looking at complications. Because people with type 1 diabetes usually get the disease earlier in life than those with type 2, they have the dubious distinction of running a greater risk of developing complications than those with type 2. Complications appear in people who have had diabetes for fifteen years or more, although certain short-term complications can appear (and disappear) at any time. Evidence of diabetes-related eye problems, for example, is present after five years in 1 percent of type 1 cases; by fourteen years, the percentage is close to 100.
The type of complications that develop also depends on diabetes type. Individuals with type 1 tend to develop different problems than those with type 2. For instance, type 1 diabetes tends to produce vision problems sooner than does type 2 diabetes, while type 2 diabetes appears to be linked to more heart attacks and strokes. The rates at which complications proceed also vary wildly.
Scientists don't really know why these differences exist. Nor do they know why complications sometimes develop in people who have blood-sugar levels firmly in hand while other people never develop complications, regardless of how well or how poorly they control their blood sugar. It may boil down to genetic differences or even to factors yet unknown.
The thing to remember is that everyone has different responses to high and low blood sugar, so you may want to know what their symptoms tend to be. Self-monitoring of blood glucose can track sugar patterns and guard against these short-term, but potentially deadly, complications.
Hope this helps.

Question about truck driving company physicals?
I am reading a few informative topics online about how truck companies test out new recruits and I am surprised at all of the things involved such as carrying weights across the room, perfect hearing and eyesight, great blood pressure, etc. I assume they do these tests for new people or every time your DOT physical card expires? Because if this is a repeat process I do not see how I can stay in flawless physical health while driving a truck.
I am spending a lot of hours exercising now just to stay within their perfect health guidelines.
You don't need to be in perfect health but you do need to have your health corrected....Example: If you have high blood pressure then you need a note from your Dr. stating that you are under his care and are taking blood pressure medication. If your eyesight isn't the best, you need to have correct vision and be able to prove that you are wearing contacts or glasses. As part of the D.O.T. physical, you need to be able to touch your toes while having straight legs to prove your back isn't jacked up. You don't need to be in flawless physical health, believe me, I'm not but you should be in decent health. A DOT card is pretty serious meaning that they are expecting you not to have a heart attack or stroke behind the wheel because of your bad health and you are pretty much a professional driver. All I can tell you is DON'T HAVE DRUGS OR EXCESSIVE ALCOHOL IN YOUR SYSTEM IF DRIVING A TRUCK. The fines are MUCH steeper and the amount of alcohol in your system is pretty much limited to .08%...MAX.
The war on drugs?
I have come to the conclusion that the government has no hope
how can you stop something that makes people feel good, is highly addictive and has extreme social possibilities?
And the dealing: 50% profit, no tax, instant cash.
Where i am (Australia) a six pack of jim beams is $26 at my local bottle shop.. with an ecstasy pill going at 25, how is those news laws going to help.
6 drinks? or a pinger for cheaper. ill take the pill thanks.
so the war on drugs is only in effect on the small scale (dealing pills at a club etc, making $300) not the large scale (Supplying opium worldwide etc, making millions)?
Ya, the war on Drugs was not supposed to be "Won"
its going on and on ... Prohibition made HUGE profits for illegal alcohol producers. and likewise the Prohibition of Drugs is making big bux for a very few individuals. and its also good for filling up prisons with offenders and that makes $$$! for the private sector prison operators. Greed inc. sees it as a win - win proposition
