Does an EMG rule out neuropathy with accuracy?

EMG results were no neuropathy but a pinched nerver in my L5 region. I am to continue Lyrica and the xodol (generic neurotin). ?!No other tests were taken. Could this be wrong? My left foot hurts so very bad. Have tingling and pain now in the other toes. Nov.14th is when I met my new doc. to get on diabetic meds.

An EMG is not a perfect test. It depends on many factors, including the doctor administering the test. The machine only puts forth the sounds "heard" in the muscles; the operator is the one who interprets what is being heard. If you are having a day where the pain is slightly less, the test will be "normal" or inconclusive. A bad day, the test will/should show abnormalities.

What do the numbers for your blood pressure REALLY mean?

Mine was 134 over 77. I know that 120 over 80 is the ideal. What's the difference mean?

how could you make a workplace more green (a store). we want to reduce green house gases and minimize wastage....so far i came up with cutting electricity by putting in skylights, not having plastic bags, monitoring gas, electricity and water consumption. does anyone have any ideas or tips??

Updating lighting systems when possible. Switching from T-12 lighting to T8 or even T5 tubes and ballasts correct for them can cut energy costs. Do a simple CBA to see if changing a half dozen units is cost effective, or changing out all of them at once- check with an electrical contractor for his rates.

If you have cinder block walls, and if your company owns the building, contact some of the foam insulation contractors and see how feasible it might be to fill the cinder block or even precast walls with foam insulation if it has not been done already. It will keep summer heat out and winter cold out as well.

If you only have 1/4 inch glass on the windows, consider a film layer for summer to keep heay out and potentially a clear layer with dead air space to improve thermal efficiency of the windows at what should be less cost than total replacement to thermalpane windows.

Where can I pick up a mold testing kit? and is that something that I can do myself?

The mold is not visible yet but I have a really good idea where it is growing. And the apartment is always damp and water is leaking into it in several locations whenever it rains.

A home improvement store (home depot, ace hardware) should carry them. I'd imagine it'd be like a swab test, don't know for sure though. May call a store or get on their website to see for sure. Good luck.

Is this Hypoglycemia or Diabetes?

I bought a glucose monitor because diabetes runs in the family and wanted to keep myself in check. I have gotten both high and low readings but not sure what it could be. I've gotten readings so far of 58, 69, 130, 132, 136. The high numbers were taken 2-4 hours after eating and I noticed I got shaky and dizzy and my breathing increased rapidly whenever I got them. As for the low numbers, the 58 was taken after I had eaten in the morning, and the 69 was a fasting test. What do you think this is? Should I keep monitoring myself or is just a waste of time and money since strips can be expensive?

If you have anything, it sounds like hypoglycemia. 58 is pretty low unless you're on insulin. But instead of wasting money on strips, just go to the doctor. It isn't hard to find out.
