My cousin gets random urine screenings. She takes a RediCup brand 6-panel drug screen. This particular one tests for the following:

How much does the UK government/NHS spend on obesity related diseases, in comparison to........?

I want to know how much it costs the NHS to treat obesity (including related diabetes, gout, arthritis, heart conditions etc) in comparison to smoking related ill health, alcohol related ill health (including treating domestic violence, RTAs, etc), cancer (especially skin)..... I'd also like to know how much is spent on researching treatments for each of these four areas - obesity, smoking, alcohol, and cancer. I have been reading some horrifying statistics and was wondering if anyone could sum it all up for me???

Diabetes cookbooks are a dime a dozen. You can find diabetes cookbooks in the grocery store check out aisle. You don't need special cookbook for diabetes, because most of those receipes are simply exchange sugar for Splenda or other artificial sweeteners. You just need to read nutrition labels, and keep carbohydrates to a minimum, like 30grams a meal. You can't completely eliminate carbs because that is your body's fuel.
When you got diagnosed, your doctor should have talked to you about this. If you do not understand how to modify your diet, ask you doctor for a referal to a nutritionist or dietician. A few diabetes classes is far more helpful than any of the diabetes cookbooks that you can buy.
