What is a thrombosed hemorrhoid?

A thrombosed haemorrhoid is actually an external haemorrhoid that is accompanied by a blood clot. It is a very painful state of affairs that can get healed of its own within a matter of one week.  Nevertheless there is a very high risk of it to recur if it is just left to heal by itself. Yet it is understandable that  nearly all would be in favour of getting their hemorrhoid cured instantly rather than wait for a week to be relieved.

Usually, when you develop thrombosed hemorrhoids you will find that hard swellings have developed round your anus and these swellings are itching terribly. If any blood oozes then you might also have an internal hemorrhoid along with it. Knowing what proper steps to take and how to get the thrombosed hemorrhoid treated is very important.

The mode of treatment for thrombosed hemorrhoids

Various modes for treatment may be used as an approach to address this condition which you may have. There are treatments that you can do yourself and there are treatments where you will need a doctor to perform and operate on you. A diet that consisting of rich in fiber foods has been proven in quite a lot of ways to be an effective way to solve this problem, especially when this is done while maintaining good personal hygiene. Since people often do not have patience, they need to have themselves operated and endure the pain of going under the knife.

To obtain relief from this problem, there are lots of things that we can do on our own. You can periodically keep the affected area submerged in lukewarm water for relief from pain and itching; you can apply topical ointments made especially for hemorrhoids and even stop using sitting toilets for good effect.  These things that you can do on your own will in fact help in soothing you from the pain.

Lydoicaine is usually present in hemorrhoid creams, that it relieves the pain when used. The size of the thrombosis is also lessened by the creams which makes it disappear after a period of time, apart from its ability to minimize the pain.

When talking about surgery you can use various methods available. However, personal hygiene and a prescribed diet is the most beneficial as it prevents the problem from recurring. You have to remember that when you opt for surgery, it does not mean that you get away with treatment in an instant.  In fact for any good thrombosis operation to succeed you will have to invest longer time than in the normal process of removal.

Yet, this method of instant hemorrhoid removal is not that much effective and not really that good.  This is so because it has been found out that in the condition has returned when the surgery has been done and the wound is healing.  Usually, if you get surgery done with the arrival of the symptoms you stand of getting cured easily than if you get surgery done at a later time.

During the surgery, a surgeon may slice the blood vessels and remove the clot which causes the problem.  However, in my opinion, nothing beats good food and regular exercise to avoid thrombosed hemorroids.
